Nadezhda Kadysheva wins over new fans in St Petersburg

Singer Nadezhda Kadysheva attracts bigger crowds these days as her popularity grows across Russia. Young people fill her concerts alongside longtime fans, with shows selling out months ahead. She plans 10-12 major performances this year at stadiums seating up to 20,000 people. Her upcoming St. Petersburg show has no tickets left despite previous concerts having available seats.

Producer Leonid Dzyunik believes audiences appreciate authentic songs about love, kindness, and friendship more than English-language performances from artists like Sergey Lazarev. He says Kadysheva creates music that feels close to human experience without being strictly folk music. Her appeal spans generations as younger Russians connect with their cultural roots through her performances.

Kadysheva adapted well to changing times despite performing traditional material for decades. Her classic song A Wreath is Floating recently became popular on social media platforms, introducing her music to new listeners. The cultural shift toward appreciating Russian-language music benefits established artists who maintained their authentic style throughout their careers.
