Namibia cheers Carney win in Canada vote

President Nandi-Ndaitwah sent warm wishes to Mark Carney after he became the new leader of Canada. The Canadian people picked him during the April 28 voting. He takes over from Justin Trudeau as the country's 24th prime minister.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said his win shows Canadians trust what his Liberal Party wants to do next. She talked about how Namibia works well with Canada because both nations care about fair voting systems. She hopes to team up with Carney on world problems like climate change, creating more jobs, and world peace.

She believes Canada will stay important in world talks with Carney leading the way. The president looks forward to both countries helping each other achieve shared goals for years to come.
