Money boss Mthuli Ncube says the government wants to make business easier across Zimbabwe. He talked about this last Friday at a big meeting in Gweru. The plan aims to help every part of the country grow jobs and make money. They want the Midlands area to become the main place where people put their money and start companies.
Ncube said they plan to cut rules that slow down business and add new rewards for companies that make things inside Zimbabwe. These rewards focus on those who turn raw materials into finished products they can sell to other countries. The Midlands has many natural treasures and factories but grows slower than it should. The right numbers show it growing at 4.7 percent when it could reach 7 percent each year.
The future looks bright, though. Studies say this area might grow by almost 8 percent between 2021 and 2030. Ncube showed off a book full of chances to make money in all eight parts of the Midlands. He called this book a new way to see what you can build or buy in this area. The book lists big projects like sun power plants, cotton factories, and farm water systems.
Owen Ncube, who runs the Midlands area for the government, said many big mining companies have come to work there. Some even make power along with mining. These companies include Dinson Iron and Steel, which adds 50 power units to the country's grid. The Midlands makes all the civil blast stuff in Zimbabwe, plus 42 percent of special metals and 30 percent of all gold.
The area has changed how it farms thanks to plans to fight dry weather. It uses 259 water pools to help grow food, attract tourists, and run factories. The big meeting ran for two days at Village Lodge in Gweru. People heard news about Dinson Iron and Steel Company and plans for Manhize Smart City, which keeps growing fast.
