NEMA stalls Kinoni High School lab build as Kaboyo pours Sh 10m

Kinoni High School marked its silver jubilee with a celebration attended by government officials and community leaders in Rwampara District. Director John Muhumuza praised stakeholders for supporting the institution through 25 years of educational service. The school has graduated professionals across various fields while maintaining steady growth despite periodic challenges. Students contributed over 9 million shillings toward constructing a new science laboratory facility. Alumni gathered to commemorate the milestone achievement alongside current students and faculty members.

State Minister for Luwero-Rwenzori Alice Kaboyo served as the chief guest during festivities held at the campus. She commended parents and community members for their collaborative efforts in sustaining the private secondary institution. The minister highlighted how private schools complement government educational initiatives by addressing service gaps in remote areas. Kaboyo announced a combined contribution of 10 million shillings from personal funds and the Micro Projects program for laboratory construction. She encouraged local youth to pursue available opportunities for personal and community advancement.

Resident District Commissioner Nakamya reported that Rwampara District houses 162,967 residents across four sub-counties and 29 parishes. The school currently accommodates more than 1,270 students within its expanded infrastructure developed over two decades. Vice District Chairperson Jackson noted that construction on one building remains suspended pending environmental assessment reports from NEMA. Member of Parliament Amos Kankunda expressed gratitude for community support that enabled smooth school operations. District officials contributed 200,000 shillings toward the ongoing science laboratory project during the anniversary event.
