Nessebar evacuates 200 as Elenite floods again

Burgas Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov announced that an operational headquarters would convene at 9 a.m. on Saturday in the Nessebar municipality to coordinate cleanup operations after severe flooding. Four fire brigade teams and six police units remained deployed in Elenite, and emergency services completed the final evacuation at 9 p.m. on Friday after rescuing hotel employees. Approximately 200 residents received shelter in St. Vlas and Nessebar complexes, and the Bulgarian Red Cross checkpoint processed 80 individuals who required medical or psychological support.

Most displaced persons maintain permanent residences in Elenite, and Krumov confirmed that authorities will establish a commission to investigate the water disaster. Response teams continue assessing damage and securing affected areas as officials work to restore normal conditions for returning residents.
