Netherlands sweep India in Bengaluru cup tie

The Netherlands secured a comprehensive whitewash against India at the Billie Jean King Cup Playoffs in Bengaluru, claiming all three matches without dropping a single rubber. Anouk Koevermans opened proceedings with a straight-sets triumph over Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, breaking early and maintaining dominance throughout the 6-2, 6-4 victory.

Suzan Lamens continued the momentum by defeating Sahaja Yamalapalli 6-2, 6-3 in the second singles encounter. The world number 89 proved superior against her lower-ranked opponent, recovering quickly after a brief challenge midway through the second set.

Lamens returned for the doubles rubber alongside Demi Schuurs, and the pair overwhelmed Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 performance. The Dutch combination allowed just two games throughout the entire match, capping an emphatic sweep at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium.
