New Ghost Recon Title Set for Fall 2026 Release After Alpha Testing in 2025

Ubisoft plans to release a new Ghost Recon game during fall 2026. The company will start alpha testing for the project during fall 2025. Insider-Gaming reports that developers use the codename Ovr for the upcoming title. The studio decided to move forward with testing after confirming Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake arrives before March 2026. Several major Ubisoft projects have faced delays recently.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint launched during 2019 as the last main series entry. Ubisoft stopped creating new content for Breakpoint nearly three years after release. The game received poor reviews and disappointed many fans of the franchise. The company also cancelled Ghost Recon Frontline after ending Breakpoint development. Original plans called for the next Ghost Recon game to arrive during 2025.

Ubisoft expects a quiet year for 2025 releases. The company continues working on Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell remakes. XDefiant multiplayer shooter closed earlier during the current year. Only three games will launch during 2025 from Ubisoft studios. These titles are Anno 117 Pax Romana, The Rogue Prince of Persia, and Morbid Metal.

The publisher will not host a Ubisoft Forward event during 2025. Internal changes continue due to partnership agreements with Tencent. Assassin's Creed Shadows provided a recent success for the struggling company. The positive reception helped Ubisoft after several disappointing releases. Every 2026 game faces increased pressure to succeed for the publisher.
