Dr Rudo Gumbo, who spoke at the Bulawayo trade fair, said Zimbabwe air rescue teams will soon work at Victoria Falls. Later, more bases will open in Masvingo, Mutare, Kariba, and Buffalo Range. A call center will help people access this life-saving service faster.
The government started Helidrive to solve medical transport problems across the country. The first base opened in Harare last July, with Bulawayo following in December. These teams have already helped 450 patients, among them 150 babies less than a month old.
The program began after Zimbabwe received 18 helicopters from Rostec in 2023.
