New management at Chittagong Port exposes Saif Powertec failure

Chittagong Dry Dock Limited grabbed control of the bustling NCT terminal operations and workers there have been cranking out impressive numbers. The company pushed through an average of 3,181 container units daily during their first week running the show from July 7 through July 13. Port officials watched the numbers climb past the previous operator's measly 2,956 units per day average. Saif Powertec Limited had been calling the shots at the terminal until their contract ran out on July 6. The Ministry of Shipping gave Chittagong Dry Dock the green light to take over the next day.

Port workers have been moving with better coordination since the management switch happened. The terminal crew knocked out container loading and unloading jobs for 10 different vessels during that seven-day stretch. Four ships are getting simultaneous treatment at the terminal's four berths right after the changeover. The Chief Adviser's Office put out word about the daily boost of 225 container units compared to the old management. Workers have been showing stronger operational discipline under the new leadership team.
