Gambia's transport minister Ebrima Sillah recently traveled around the country to check road building projects. He wanted to see how the work was going and talk with people who live near the roads. Communities across Gambia told him the new roads have changed their lives for the better. People can reach hospitals much easier and move around their areas without problems.
Village leader Ebrima Gibba from Madina Misra said his community feels very happy about their road. Families can take sick people to nearby hospitals without struggling. Buya Touray agreed and said finding rides has become much simpler since the road got fixed. Even people without cars can travel to important places.
Kaddy Camara from Dasilameh explained how the road helps children and pregnant women most. Animals can walk around freely and families can reach medical care during nighttime emergencies. The old road caused many problems but the new path works perfectly. She hopes the people who built it stay healthy and live long lives.
Religious leader Ebrima Gibba thanked the president and government for listening to their needs. His area was not part of the original plan but officials decided to help anyway. The road connects Madina to Misra for the first time in fifty years. He wants the construction to continue toward Yorokunda village.
Lassana Bajinka from Kiang Kemodu said bringing rice and keeping fish fresh used to be very hard. Food would go bad before reaching families but everything works better with the new road. Nyimanding Camara can travel between Jara and Kandahar easily and still have time for cooking dinner.
