Ngunjiri Wants Gachagua to Go Beyond Central Kenya

Former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's political strategy, urging him to expand beyond Central Kenya's regional boundaries. Ngunjiri emphasized the importance of national inclusivity and warned against what he calls "Mlima politics" - a narrow, ethnically focused approach.

Speaking on Spice FM, Ngunjiri shared personal experiences that shape his political perspective. He highlighted the traumatic impact of the 2007/08 post-election violence, which claimed 14 of his family members, as a pivotal reason for advocating multi-ethnic political engagement.

The former MP stressed the significance of multilingual communication, particularly in diverse regions like Nakuru. He practices speaking multiple languages during public meetings, including Kikuyu, Kisii, and Kalenjin, to promote unity and understanding across different communities.

Ngunjiri's critique comes as Gachagua attempts to consolidate support in the Mt. Kenya region ahead of the 2027 elections. Despite their friendship, Ngunjiri remains vocal about his disagreement with Gachagua's current political approach and limitations.
