Nintendo Keeps Feeding Switch Fans New Games

Nintendo plans to keep making games for the older Switch even after the new Switch 2 comes out. The company shared this news in their money report. Games like Pokémon Legends Z-A, Metroid Prime 4, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and Tomodachi Life will hit the first Switch through 2026.

The old system sales fell from about 16 million last year to nearly 11 million this year. Almost 150 million people worldwide have bought a Switch since it launched. This puts the Switch second only to PlayStation 2, which sold more than 160 million units.

Nintendo wants to serve both groups of players. They need fresh games for current Switch owners and special titles that work only on Switch 2. For example, Mario Kart World will run only on the new machine when it arrives on June 5.

The large group of Switch players matters to Nintendo. More than 100 million active users give the company reason to support both systems at once.
