Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Hit US April 24, Accessories Up

Nintendo says you can pre-order the Switch 2 in America starting April 24, 2025. The main console price stays the same, including the Mario Kart World bundle. They also kept Donkey Kong Bananza prices unchanged. Nintendo explained these changes on their website blog. They blamed market conditions for making accessories more expensive.

All Nintendo-made add-ons cost more than was first announced on April 2. The Pro Controller jumped from $79.99 to $84.99. The camera went up five dollars to $54.99. Joy-Con 2 pairs increased to $94.99 from $89.99. The charging grip costs $39.99 instead of $34.99. The dock set saw the biggest increase at ten dollars, reaching $119.99. Nintendo warns that other products might become pricier if market conditions change again.

Canadian customers faced similar delays, but can also pre-order on April 24. Many people worried the console itself would cost more after pre-orders stopped just two days after the Nintendo Direct presentation. Some fans feared the June 5 release date might change for North America. An insider named Billbil-kun correctly predicted when pre-orders would return.
