Nintendo Switch 2 runs two types of NVIDIA DLSS tech

The Nintendo Switch 2 supports two versions of NVIDIA DLSS upscaling technology, and Digital Foundry confirmed this through game analysis on Friday. The standard version resembles the PC CNN model with enhanced anti-aliasing, but it applies only to games upscaling to 1080p resolution. A lighter variant offers sharper static images, but it disables advanced features during motion, and it works for resolutions beyond 1080p. The lighter model requires half the processing time of the standard version while sacrificing movement quality.

Cyberpunk 2077, Street Fighter 6, Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Outlaws, The Touryst, and Fast Fusion demonstrate the upscaling options on the portable system. A game developer verified that multiple presets exist for both DLSS types on the platform. Third-party titles currently use the feature, but first-party releases may adopt the technology as Nintendo develops compatible engines. The Switch 2 marks the first handheld console to integrate NVIDIA DLSS functionality.
