NPP's Alhaji Osman purges founding father Nyaho-Tamakloe

NPP Third Vice Chairman Alhaji Osman Masawudu announced that the party founder, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, cannot be considered a current party member. The statement emerged during a radio interview on Happy 98.9 FM with host Bismark Brown from the University of Ghana campus. Masawudu argued that the former diplomat's recent behavior and ongoing criticism demonstrate his departure from NPP ideals. Party officials have not mentioned any formal expulsion procedures against the veteran politician. Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe frequently voices strong opposition against the current party leadership and their policies.

The founding member regularly challenges NPP decisions and accuses leaders of abandoning democratic principles. Political analysts suggest this declaration reflects deeper divisions between current leadership and veteran members who feel marginalized. Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe has remained silent following these public statements about his membership status. The controversy may worsen internal party conflicts as the NPP prepares for the 2028 elections. Observers await further developments that could reshape the party's internal power dynamics.
