NVIDIA bets big on Blackwell B20 as China faces AI chip shakeup

NVIDIA pushes beyond its H20 AI accelerator sales strategy for China. The tech giant prepares a Blackwell-based solution for the massive Chinese market. Company sources reveal plans for the B20 AI chip pending regulatory approval. Export restrictions under Trump previously blocked H20 orders from Chinese customers. NVIDIA had already begun phasing out the H20 before these trade barriers emerged.

Chinese reports from Cailianshe suggest NVIDIA will halt new H20 orders entirely. The company aims for a year-end launch of its next-generation market solution. China currently lags three generations behind the global release of AI chips. Industry insiders confirm NVIDIA stopped boosting H20 production capacity months ago. The Hopper generation has dominated Chinese AI markets for years.

NVIDIA stockpiles billions worth of H20 inventory right at this moment. This massive supply covers at least one quarter of China's AI demand. The B20 chip is expected to arrive next quarter, according to industry rumors. Reports suggest multiple products will target different market segments. The B20, B30, and RTX 6000D chips will serve various customer needs.
