NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Debut Set for July 1

NVIDIA moved up the release date for its RTX 5050 graphics card from late July to July 1st. The company plans a paper launch without immediate product shipments. Graphics card makers cannot deliver actual units on the announcement date. Real availability will start in mid to late July according to industry sources. MEGAsizeGPU reported the schedule change as an unusual move.

The RTX 5050 targets budget gamers with prices between $199 and $249. NVIDIA positions the card below its $299 RTX 5060 model. Intel Arc B580 and Arc B570 graphics cards provide direct competition at similar price points. The Arc models sell for $219 and $249 respectively with more video memory.

NVIDIA built the RTX 5050 around its smallest Blackwell gaming chip called GB207. The card features 2560 processing cores matching the older RTX 3050 design. Advanced Blackwell architecture delivers faster ray tracing and artificial intelligence performance. Eight gigabytes of GDDR6 memory connects through a 128-bit interface. Memory speed increases to 20 gigabits per second for 320 gigabytes total bandwidth.

The new card consumes less power than its predecessor at an estimated 100 watts. RTX 3050 models require 130 watts for operation. All graphics card partners will create custom versions without a Founders Edition model. Reference designs will use five-phase voltage regulation circuits for stable power delivery. The RTX 5050 represents another entry-level option with eight gigabytes of video memory.
