Nvidia RTX 50 SUPER GPUs Pack Wild 24GB GDDR7

According to posts on Chiphell forums, NVIDIA plans to release SUPER versions of its RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 graphics cards. These new models might help NVIDIA recover from earlier problems with the RTX 50 series launch, which faced inventory shortages, display driver crashes, and missing ROPs.

The RTX 5080 SUPER will reportedly come with 24 GB of memory, a major boost from the standard model. The RTX 5070 SUPER will feature 18 GB of memory. Both cards will use GDDR7 memory technology, likely with 3 GB modules similar to those in the RTX 5090 laptop GPU.

MSI already revealed details about an RTX 5080 with 24 GB memory, suggesting that board partners have been preparing for these SUPER models. The increased memory represents a 50% gain for both cards compared to their standard versions.

Performance details remain limited, but sources indicate the upgrades may not bring dramatic speed improvements. The main selling point appears to be the significantly increased video memory, which could benefit memory-intensive applications and games at higher resolutions.
