Nwifuru throws cash at dead flood victims' kin

The Ebonyi State government disbursed N100 million and relief materials to 894 residents of Enohia Itim in Afikpo after floods between July and August killed eight people and damaged homes and farms. At a distribution event on Wednesday, families of the dead received N1 million each, farmers who lost crops received N500,000 each, and households with damaged property received N250,000 each. Each beneficiary also received four bags of rice and two bags of garri, as well as mattresses and buckets. The Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Ann Aligwe, praised Governor Francis Nwifuru for his swift, welfare-driven actions, which align with his Charter of Needs. Afikpo council chair Timothy Nwachi and affected residents thanked the governor, stating that the assistance arrived within 32 days and would ease grief and support recovery.
