Nyali residents hold special prayers for Raila

Hundreds of supporters gathered in Nyali on Saturday to hold prayers and a thanksgiving ceremony for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who died recently and was buried the previous week. Residents from multiple wards came together in Maweni to honor the late leader, with organizer Said Abdalla noting that many who missed the Bondo burial had requested the local event. Abdalla praised community members for their loyalty to Odinga and encouraged them to maintain the peace and unity he promoted.

Dennis Aduda from Mkomani said Odinga's death created an irreplaceable void for supporters who relied on his guidance toward democracy and national unity. Agneta James explained that the ceremony followed Luo customs requiring four days of mourning after his death in India. Francis Mwanzia commended President William Ruto for supporting the family and providing a state funeral, and thanked Abdalla for funding over 100 residents to attend the Bondo service on Sunday.
