Nyarko blasts NPP blame on Bawumia in Ashanti, labels critics lazy

Kwadaso Member of Parliament Professor Kingsley Nyarko rejected accusations against former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia regarding the New Patriotic Party's electoral loss. The academic politician addressed party supporters during regional constituency meetings in the Ashanti region. Nyarko characterized blame toward Bawumia as illogical and unfounded. He emphasized that parliamentary representation fell from 138 seats to 87 seats during the 2024 election cycle. The professor argued that individual candidates bear responsibility for this decline rather than the presidential candidate.

Nyarko challenged critics by questioning their motivations and timing. He suggested that detractors would have sought government appointments if the party had achieved victory. The lawmaker predicted future success with current parliamentary numbers against opposition forces. Nyarko committed his support to Bawumia through future presidential campaigns. These statements have intensified internal party discussions about leadership direction and electoral strategy moving forward.
