ODM marks 20 years with three-day celebration in Mombasa

Kenya's Orange Democratic Movement will mark its 20th anniversary with a three-day celebration from November 14 through 16 in Mombasa, honoring former leader Raila Odinga and reflecting on the party's role in expanding democratic participation. Interim leader Oburu Odinga announced that activities will begin on Friday with gatherings for the disability league, women's and youth wings, concluding with an evening concert, while Saturday's program at Mama Ngina Waterfront will focus on Raila Odinga's political contributions before a founders' dinner at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort.

The commemoration follows a National Governing Council session scheduled for Thursday, November 13, allowing members to assess organizational development and strategic priorities. Originally planned for October 10 to 12, organizers rescheduled the anniversary to accommodate broader participation from counties and supporters across the nation. The gathering is expected to draw governors, senators, legislators, and grassroots members as the party reaffirms its foundational principles after two decades of political engagement.
