Omala Kids Reveal Dad Sold Home to Fight Cancer

The family of former Assistant Police Commissioner Sam Omala asks for kindness after his death on Monday at Mulago Hospital. His son spoke about negative comments hurting the family since his father died. He defended his father, saying anyone would have acted the same way because the job demanded it. He stressed his father never killed anyone during police service. The family wants people to stop spreading harmful words about him.

Money troubles hit the family hard during Omala's long illness that began in 2018 when doctors found cancer two years before he left the police force. His medical bills drained all his retirement money and savings. The sick officer even sold his house to pay for treatment. Despite plans to take him to India for help, his health worsened after he collapsed during a trip to Mombasa. The family thanked several officials for their support during this difficult time.
