Yangon vendors have resumed weekend operations at a specialty market dedicated to agricultural products cultivated through sustainable methods, according to representatives from Myanmar's fruit and vegetable trade association. The revived initiative operates at Myaypadethakyun in Bahan Township, providing retail access to organic crops and value-added goods processed by small enterprises.
Association secretary U Tin Aung explained the marketplace connects consumers with farmers who employ natural cultivation techniques and adhere to good agricultural practice standards. The program originally launched over a decade ago but ceased during pandemic disruptions before reopening this year with weekend hours spanning morning through early afternoon.
