Police plan to watch over three towns with new cameras to stop crime. The cameras will run all day long in places where many bad things happen. Officers will see what happens on the streets, at stores, and in shopping areas from a special room. They can talk to the police walking around these areas when they see trouble. Workers have already set up cameras in Oshakati and will add them in Ongwediva and Ondangwa soon.
Police leader Joseph Shikongo told people about these plans at Adolf village on Friday. He wants everyone in the Oshana region to feel safe when they walk outside. The police aim to catch anyone who tries to hurt others or steal things. Shikongo believes these cameras will help keep peace throughout the area. During the same meeting, he also gave 35 police workers new ranks.
