Pandikar cites experience for Sabah role

Usno President Tan Sri Pandikar Amin defended his candidacy, stating his extensive background was vital for advocating Sabah's rights with the federal government. He responded to critiques from younger Pintasan leaders by explaining that his motivation was a sense of duty, not personal ambition. Pandikar Amin emphasized that complex negotiations concerning the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and international relations required a depth of experience.

He noted that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor recognized the need for seasoned figures like himself and Tan Sri Anifah Aman to engage with Putrajaya. While acknowledging the value of new perspectives, he argued that securing constitutional rights and representing communities like the Iranun and Tabilung demanded long-acquired expertise. He also pledged to address local issues in Pintasan, recalling his prior role in establishing the seat.
