Party Colors Banned at July 1 Prayer Bash

Elvis Afriyie Ankrah warned people against wearing political party clothes to the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving event. The committee chairman stressed that attendees must dress only with white outfits and national colors. He spoke at the media launch on Friday May 30 about the July 1 celebration. The event aims to bring all Ghanaians together regardless of their political beliefs. Afriyie Ankrah wants the day to promote unity rather than create divisions among citizens.

Christians will gather at State House forecourt from 8 AM to 10 AM for their prayer session. Muslims will hold their prayers at the National Mosque between 12:30 PM and 2 PM. The theme focuses on reflection and renewal for national prosperity across Ghana. Different faiths can participate according to their religious practices during the special day. Organizers designed the schedule to accommodate various worship traditions throughout the country.

Afriyie Ankrah called the July 1 date a bold decision that invites every Ghanaian to participate. He urged citizens to move away from blame and greed toward shared responsibility for the nation. Media outlets received requests to promote the patriotic cause across all platforms. The chairman wants radio and television stations to spread messages of hope and renewal. He believes July 1 can mark the beginning of spiritual revival for Ghana.
