Pastor Busted for Viral Smear Video

Police locked up a 48-year-old pastor after he spread lies about another church leader online. Emmanuel Boachie faces charges for publishing false news that could disturb peace. He denied doing anything wrong when he appeared before Judge Gloria Mensah Bonsu at the Asante Akropong court.

The case involves claims Boachie made against Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, who leads Believers Worship Center in Kumasi, Kenyasi. Boachie runs Souls Pasture Church and heads Awesome Bible College in Achiase. Police say he posted videos on WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook, making serious accusations.

In these videos, Boachie called the prophet a false teacher, thief, robber, murderer, and more. He claimed the prophet teaches things that go against the Bible. The videos spread quickly across social media platforms, catching the attention of Prophet Kyei-Duah, who reported the matter to the Kumasi Tafo Police.

Officers arrested Boachie, who admitted to making these posts during early questioning. The court has scheduled his next appearance for April 30. Assistant Superintendent Albert Asagre told the court that police continue to investigate the case as they gather more evidence about the harmful claims.

The judge ordered Boachie to remain in custody until his next court date. The case has drawn attention because both men serve as religious leaders in their communities. Local authorities worry that such public conflicts between church leaders might cause problems among their followers.
