Malawi Flames coach Kalisto Pasuwa has retained 24 players from the squad that competed in last month's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Namibia and Liberia for the October matches. The 25-man roster features 15 foreign-based players for home and away fixtures against Equatorial Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe. Defender Jubril Okedina returns after his absence from recent games to join the lineup.
The Flames will face Equatorial Guinea on Oct. 9, 2025, at Bingu National Stadium before traveling to Tunis for the second match on Oct. 13. Okedina, who represents Bohemian F.C. in Ireland, last appeared for the national team during the Four Nations tournament in March 2024. Players are scheduled to assemble in Lilongwe on Sunday, Oct. 5, to start preparations. The squad consists of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards from domestic and international clubs.
