PBS backs five former Star assemblymen, pledges support for GRS in state polls

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has pledged to support the five former Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) assemblymen who remained with the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition, committing to mobilize its campaign machinery in their constituencies for the upcoming state elections.

PBS information chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai announced the decision after a political bureau meeting chaired by acting president Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam. The move aims to strengthen cooperation and unity on the ground between PBS and GRS, particularly in areas where PBS has strong grassroots support.

PBS will soon engage in discussions with the five assemblymen — Datuk Ellron Angin, Datuk Robert Tawik, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, Datuk Annuar Ayub, and Datuk Flovia Ng — who left Star after it chose to contest the election independently. The five are expected to defend their seats under the GRS banner.

PBS reiterated its full support for GRS and its collaboration with the national Pakatan Harapan (PH) bloc, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among GRS parties for political stability and continued development.
