PCB to add two PSL teams in 2026

Pakistan Cricket Board will add two franchises to the Pakistan Super League beginning with the 2026 season, expanding the tournament from six teams to eight. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi described the development as significant for the competition's growth and stated that the sale process for ownership rights has commenced.

Organizations interested in acquiring a franchise must submit technical proposals by a mid-December deadline. Potential owners can select from six cities for their teams: Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi. The board has conducted independent valuations of current franchises and sent existing teams renewal letters with updated fees covering the next decade.
