Pearls Stung by Rwanda Before Semis vs HPC

Rwanda beat Uganda during their cricket match at Gahanga Stadium. The home team scored 120 runs and won with five wickets left. Uganda made 119 runs but could not defend their total score. Diane Marie Bimenyimana led Rwanda with 46 runs from 44 balls. She earned Player of the Match honors for her batting performance.

Uganda captain Janet Mbabazi started well with a boundary off the first ball. Rosine Itera took two quick wickets and stopped Uganda's early momentum. Immaculate Nakisuuyi scored 44 runs and Rita Musamali added 36 for Uganda. The team reached their best tournament total of 119 runs. Rwanda chased down the target with eight balls remaining.

Coach Brian Masaba said Uganda must improve their fielding before the semifinals. The team lost two close games and needs better focus going forward. Uganda faces Zimbabwe High Performance Centre on Friday for a final spot. Both teams finished with 12 points but Uganda ranked higher on run rate. The winner advances to play for the tournament championship.
