Perak Agrees to Sell Treated Water to Penang

Perak state leaders decided to sell clean water to Penang through a major new project. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow shared the news after meeting with business partners from the PKNP-Gamuda team. The water deal representatives visited Penang yesterday to discuss the partnership plans. Perak officials gave them permission to start talking about the water supply agreement. The treated water will go directly to Penang Water Supply Corporation for local distribution.

The visiting group brought good news about moving forward with negotiations. Perak Development Corporation and Gamuda Berhad joined forces to make this water project happen. State authorities back home told them to begin serious discussions about supplying water across state lines. Chow welcomed the business delegation and promised to set up a negotiation team soon. His state executive council will pick the right people to handle the water talks.

Several important business figures attended the meeting at the chief minister's office. PKNP director Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak led the delegation from Perak state. Gamuda Berhad sent top executives Azmi Mat Nor and Szeto Wai Loong to represent their company. SRS Consortium advisor Ooi Eng Hock and Gamuda Engineering director Faris Yusof joined the discussions. PBAPP chief executive Pathmanathan also participated in the important water supply meeting.
