PKR Battles Internal Resignations as Party Stays United

PKR party leaders say they are not worried about members quitting their jobs. Fuziah Salleh told reporters that not enough people have quit to shut down any party branches. The party rules say at least two out of every three committee members must quit before a branch closes down. Most branches have only seen a few people leave their positions. The party structure stays the same when fewer people quit.

The Lenggong branch shows how this works in practice. Fifteen people quit from a group of thirty-one members there. The rules needed twenty-one people to quit before anything would happen. Fuziah said the party takes every resignation seriously but wants members to talk about problems inside the party first. Leaders watch the situation closely to keep the party stable.

Ahmad Nizam Noh lost his attempt to lead the Lenggong branch recently. All fifteen members of his team quit after he lost the election. He filed a complaint with government officials about what happened. Some young leaders from the Selayang branch also quit after their friends lost elections. These resignations happened right after the internal voting finished.

Back in May, Fuziah had already said there were no real problems inside the party. All 220 party branches around the country finished their elections recently. The main party leaders approved all the results from these local contests. The voting process covered every division across the nation. Party officials confirmed and finalized every single result.

The party hired an outside company from another country to check if the elections were fair. The audit found no problems with how the voting happened. Fuziah said some people might try to cause trouble for the party but leaders stay focused on their work. The third-party auditor came from overseas to examine everything. Party officials remain committed to maintaining discipline and stability.
