Plateau lawmaker Adamu Aliyu declared wanted in Abuja over fake N73m TETFund contract

Justice Emeka Nwite issued a wanted declaration against Plateau State legislator Adamu Aliyu following fraud allegations. The Federal High Court ruling came after the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission filed an application regarding a fake TETFund contract scheme. Businessman Mohammed Jidda reported that Aliyu promised assistance in securing an N850 million University of Jos contract through a signed agreement. The lawmaker allegedly received N73.6 million from Jidda as an advance payment for facilitating the deal.

Investigators discovered Aliyu provided fraudulent documentation for a N500 million sports facility project. Funds were deposited into his GTBank account and an associated Zenith Bank account belonging to Imanal Concept Limited. University officials confirmed they never issued the contract and verified the award letter was forged. Aliyu repeatedly ignored the commission summons despite receiving notifications through official channels.

The court authorized national media publication of the wanted notice and empowered authorities to arrest the legislator. Aliyu faces thirty-two charges related to fraud and forgery while maintaining his innocence and claiming civil dispute status.
