Plini and Strandberg Unveil Limited Edition Boden Standard NX 6 Plini Edition Mirage Guitar

Swedish guitar maker Strandberg partnered with Australian musician Plini to create a special electric guitar. The Boden Standard NX 6 Plini Edition Mirage features artwork that glows in the dark. Guitar makers showed the instrument at NAMM 2025 before shipping early orders in May. The limited edition model costs $1,999 and comes with a carrying bag.

Plini designed the guitar around his playing style and sound preferences. The instrument uses his custom pickup setup with a three-way switch and tremolo system. Musicians control the guitar with just a volume knob instead of multiple controls. The special graphic design came from a pattern Plini saw on his raincoat. He sent the idea to Ola Strandberg who agreed to put the design on the guitar.

The headless guitar design represents Strandberg's signature approach to instrument making. Workers build the neck from roasted maple and strengthen it with carbon fiber. The guitar body uses meranti wood attached with a bolt-on neck joint. Special markers that glow in the dark help players find notes on the fingerboard.

The guitar includes advanced features like synthetic fingerboard material and stainless steel frets. Custom Strandberg pickups provide the sound at both neck and bridge positions. The tremolo system allows players to bend notes and create special effects. Musicians can order the limited edition guitar directly from Strandberg's website.
