PM Modi renews partnership with Maldives' President Muizzu

Modi held meetings with senior Maldivian officials during his state visit to the island nation Saturday. The Prime Minister engaged with Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla. President Mohamed Muizzu had extended the invitation for this diplomatic mission. Modi plans to address the Indian community residing in the Maldives later during his stay. This represents his first official journey to the archipelago since beginning his third consecutive term.

Both nations formalized multiple cooperation agreements on Friday across various sectors. The leaders jointly released special stamps commemorating six decades of diplomatic ties between their countries. President Muizzu hosted an official state banquet honoring the visiting Prime Minister. He praised Modi for becoming India's second-longest serving consecutive leader and highlighted their shared maritime heritage. The visit signals strengthened bilateral partnership between the neighboring nations.
