Pokugara Properties wins court order against false claims

A Zimbabwean court granted Pokugara Properties an interim order Monday blocking The Harare Times from publishing additional content about the developer after allegations surfaced claiming demolition threats against its properties. The ruling requires the removal of the disputed article from social media platforms and mandates disclosure of the editorial staff and directors responsible for the publication while the Zimbabwe Media Commission investigates.

WestProp, which operates Pokugara Estate, rejected claims that its developments violated regulations or faced government action. The company stated that all construction meets municipal requirements and legal standards, characterizing the reporting as defamatory and designed to create unwarranted alarm among property owners and investors.

The order prevents further distribution of unverified material concerning Kenneth Sharpe or company projects until completion of the inquiry. WestProp reassured clients that holdings remain secure and compliant with applicable codes.
