Police assure ongoing investigation into Okahandja child murders despite frustrations

Police continue investigating the deaths of three young girls killed in Okahandja during the early months of 2025. The victims' families have expressed growing concern about the slow pace of the investigation. Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi defended the ongoing police work against claims the cases have stalled. She told reporters the murders remain a top priority for law enforcement. The police department has not given up on finding those responsible.

Shikwambi explained the complexity of the investigation creates challenges for officers. Some people possess important information but refuse to share what they know with authorities. Police officers have followed every lead and tip received from the public. The forensic evidence collection is complete but analysis continues. Officials need more time to process all the scientific findings.

The three victims were Ingrid Maarsdorp age 5, Roswinds Fabianu age 6, and Beyoncé !Kharuxas age 15. All three children died under violent circumstances during separate attacks. Police have made no arrests related to any of the killings. The crimes shocked the small community and left families demanding justice. Both Ingrid and Roswinds attended KW von Marees Combined School where their bodies were found nearby.

Dollie Maarsdorp, Ingrid's grandmother, plans to organize another public demonstration. She contacts police regularly asking for updates on the investigation progress. The family wants answers about who killed their loved ones. Community members hope someone will come forward with crucial information that leads to arrests.
