Producer hands director keys before premiere, cops and chaos follow

Producer SS Lalit Kumar gave director Suresh Rajakumari a new car ahead of their film's release, a police drama called Sirai. The movie stars Vikram Prabhu and debut actor L K Akshay Kumar, with a story by director Tamizh based on real events. Vetrimaaran, who mentored Rajakumari, presented the key to the director's mother at a pre-release event.

The film's trailer shows Vikram Prabhu as a cop assigned to transport a prisoner named Abdul Rauf, played by LK Akshay Kumar, to a Sivagangai court. The prisoner begs not to be handcuffed in public, but the officers refuse. Abdul later escapes from custody with a police rifle, creating a serious crisis for the cops responsible for him. The narrative draws from a personal experience of writer Tamizh, known for the film Taanakaran.

Sirai is a big-budget project with music by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Madesh Manickam, and editing by Philomin Raj. The shoot occurred in locations like Chennai, Sivagangai, and Vellore. The cast also includes actresses Anantha and Anishma, with stunt work handled by Prabhu. Executive producers on the film are Arun K and Manikandan.
