Qatar and Rwanda seal ties with Inyambo gift

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Kigali to reinforce bilateral relations. President Kagame presented the Qatari leader with a gift of traditional Inyambo cattle, a symbol of their nations' strengthening partnership. Both leaders expressed a shared commitment to advancing mutual interests.

The meeting preceded the Emir's inaugural state visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo, a trip hailed as historic by Congolese officials. His travel itinerary occurs amid regional tensions, with Qatar having served as a diplomatic intermediary between Rwanda and the DRC concerning the M23 rebel conflict.

Discussions in Kinshasa with President Felix Tshisekedi were expected to focus on economic cooperation in sectors like mining and infrastructure, alongside matters of regional security. This two-nation tour highlights Qatar's expanding economic and diplomatic engagement across Africa.
