Qualcomm brags Snapdragon X2 Elite smokes Intel, AMD at half power

Qualcomm announced its Snapdragon X2 Elite processor family with performance claims against Intel and AMD competitors. The company states its chips deliver superior efficiency while requiring significantly less power consumption than rival processors. Manufacturing takes place on TSMC's advanced 3nm process technology with third-generation Oryon CPU cores and updated graphics architecture. Competition allegedly needs 222 percent more power to achieve equivalent performance levels.

The flagship X2 Elite Extreme variant contains 18 processing cores with maximum frequencies reaching 5.0 GHz. Qualcomm reports 44 percent faster single-core speeds and 75 percent improved multi-core performance compared to existing solutions. Graphics capabilities show 52 percent gains over current Intel and AMD integrated solutions during synthetic testing. The processors target Windows laptops with artificial intelligence features for enhanced productivity applications.
