Rajat Bedi recalls SRK calling him 'Tiger' on his 60th birthday

Actor Rajat Bedi reflected on his longstanding friendship with Shah Rukh Khan as the Bollywood star marked his 60th birthday on Sunday. Their relationship began nearly 30 years ago when Bedi worked as an assistant director during the production of Zamaana Deewana. Khan gave him the nickname Tiger to distinguish him from another crew member named Rajat, and the moniker has remained ever since.

Bedi recalled Khan's remarkable drive and welcoming nature from their earliest interactions. The energy and curiosity the superstar displayed left a lasting impression that persists today. One evening at Khan's residence, Mannat, the actor addressed Bedi by his old nickname in front of other visitors, a gesture that demonstrated his attention to relationships formed throughout his career.

The performer has transitioned from his early behind-the-scenes work to established roles in front of cameras and as a producer. His recent appearance in Aryan Khan's directorial project, The Bastards of Bollywood, represents a meaningful development in his professional journey. Bedi views his connection with the elder Khan as an important element of his path through the entertainment business, representing the bonds and moments that have influenced his work over the decades.
