Ramos Header Rattles Inter in 1-1 Draw

Sergio Ramos helped Monterrey tie Inter Milan 1-1 at the Club World Cup. The 39-year-old defender scored with a header from a corner kick after 25 minutes. Ramos won this tournament four times during his career with Real Madrid. Inter Milan was coming off a tough 5-0 loss to Paris St-Germain from last month's Champions League final. The Italian team managed to even the score before halftime when Lautaro Martinez scored from close range.

Nelson Deossa almost gave Monterrey the win during extra time but his shot hit the side netting. Cristian Chivu coached Inter Milan for the first time after taking over from Simone Inzaghi. The previous coach left the team three days after their Champions League final defeat. The Rose Bowl Stadium had many empty seats with only 40,311 fans attending out of 89,702 total capacity. Another game between Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan HD drew just 3,412 spectators for the lowest crowd numbers of the tournament.

Weather problems delayed the Orlando match for over an hour past the planned 6pm start time. Referee Clement Turpin moved players off the field because of a weather warning. Mamelodi Sundowns beat Ulsan HD 1-0 at the mostly empty Inter & Co Stadium.
