Rangpur Riders in disarray before GSL final with Guyana Warriors

Heavy rainfall disrupted Rangpur Riders' final Global Super League fixture against Central Stags on Thursday. The defending champions collapsed to 79 runs in just over 13 overs, marking the tournament's lowest team score. Weather conditions forced officials to reduce the contest to 14 overs per side. Captain's decision to bat first backfired as wickets tumbled consistently. Openers Soumya Sarkar and Ibrahim Zadran departed early, placing immediate strain on the middle order.

Mahidul Islam Ankon and Saif Hassan each contributed 25 runs while attempting to stabilize the innings. The remaining batsmen failed to reach double digits as key players struggled against disciplined bowling. Blair Tickner, Angus Shaw, and Jayden Lennox claimed three wickets apiece to demolish the batting order. Persistent rain prevented any play in the second innings, resulting in match abandonment. Rangpur advances to Saturday's final against Guyana Amazon Warriors at 5 AM BST despite the disappointing performance.
