Raymond Omollo inspects infrastructure projects in Kitui ahead of Mashujaa Day celebrations

Kenya's Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo examined construction progress at multiple development sites across Kitui County during a Saturday inspection tour. The visit focused on facilities being prepared for the October 20 Mashujaa Day festivities. Omollo evaluated work at Ithookwe Stadium, which will serve as the main celebration venue with space for 10,000 attendees. Construction teams received assurance that the facility would meet its completion deadline.

The principal secretary also reviewed a new mini State Lodge under construction in Kitui town and assessed improvements at Ithookwe Airstrip. These infrastructure investments extend beyond the national holiday and aim to strengthen regional connectivity. Omollo emphasized the government's dedication to balanced development across all counties. The projects will generate economic opportunities while enhancing Kitui's ability to host significant events. This marks the first time Mashujaa Day celebrations will take place in Kitui County, demonstrating the administration's commitment to regional equality.
