Raza crowns ICC throne, hunts Namibia at Queens Sports Club

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza advances in international cricket rankings as the premier ODI all-rounder globally. The 38-year-old player rises three positions to fourth place among T20I all-rounders with 207 ranking points. His current standing trails only India's Hardik Pandya, Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi, and Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee. Raza approaches his career peak of 213 points achieved during India's previous Zimbabwe tour. The Chevrons prepare for their opening match against Namibia at Queens Sports Club tomorrow.

Namibia enters the series with recent dominance over Zimbabwe across eleven T20I encounters. The Eagles secured seven victories against their hosts while eliminating Zimbabwe from the 2024 World Cup during the qualifying rounds. Both teams use this series as preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier beginning September 26 in Harare. The tournament determines which two African nations advance to the 2026 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. Public attendance remains free for all three matches scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
