RBZ blasts fake POSB sale rumor stirring panic

The bank boss in Zimbabwe wants everyone to know something important. Some people said on the internet that foreigners bought the People's Own Savings Bank, but this isn't true at all.

Dr Mushayavanhu, who runs Zimbabwe's biggest bank, said nobody asked to buy the savings bank. Even the president didn't tell him about selling it. He explained that anyone who wants to buy a bank must ask special people for permission first.

The savings bank belongs to the government and helps many people save their money, especially people who live far away from big cities. Some people were worried when they heard the bank might be sold, but they don't need to feel scared anymore.

The government wants people to stop sharing fake stories about banks because these stories make other people feel worried. The savings bank still belongs to Zimbabwe, and no one has bought it. All the money people put in the bank is safe.

The government might sell parts of some of its assets to make money, but it hasn't said anything about selling this savings bank. People who keep their money in this bank can feel happy because nothing has changed.
