Red Crescent gives cash lifeline to AJK families hit by LoC violence

Two hundred families received financial aid from humanitarian organizations after violence erupted near the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistan Red Crescent Society partnered with Turkey's Red Crescent to deliver 15,000 rupees to each affected household. Officials gathered at Muzaffarabad's President's Secretariat on Friday to distribute the emergency funds. Cross-border fighting had displaced residents and left many families without basic necessities. The cash assistance targets those who suffered injuries or lost property during recent military confrontations.

Chairperson Farzhana Naek addressed attendees at the distribution ceremony alongside Turkish and international representatives. She emphasized how monetary support helps families purchase immediate necessities after losing their homes. Turkish Red Crescent official Erkan Avci pledged continued assistance for Kashmir's affected populations. The International Federation of Red Cross praised local communities for their strength during difficult circumstances. Additional humanitarian efforts had already provided food and medical supplies to 140 households through partnerships with international aid organizations.
