Rekha’s heirlooms outshine red carpet

Manish Malhotra just gushed over Rekha's style being permanently iconic. The designer posted about the actress on Instagram, using photos from the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. He called her fashion sense instinctive and eternal, matching his own design philosophy. Rekha wore a personal vintage saree in silver and gold at the event in Jeddah, paired with a blouse and odhna from Malhotra's label featuring detailed zardosi embroidery.

Malhotra described her as a serious collector of heirloom sarees, saying she wears each like a piece of art with a deep personal connection. The actress received an honor at that festival, getting the Red Sea Honouree Award for her career. A restored version of her classic movie Umrao Jaan was shown there too. In a speech, Rekha mentioned she prefers to express herself through action rather than words, a lesson she learned from her mother.

The designer frequently posts his admiration for the veteran star's elegance. He emphasized that her appearance at the festival was not just styled Indian heritage but a natural expression of it, lived with what he called timeless grace.
